ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Churachandpur, under the administrative control of ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya, in collaboration with the District Agriculture Office, organized a “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” Awareness Programme at Lower Kom and Upper Kom villages on 8 June 2026. The programme was attended by the District Agriculture Department representative, Mr. Marvinson Serto. As part of the programme, a scientific demonstration on soil sample collection and a training session on the balanced use of fertilizers were conducted at the Lower Kom Village Community Hall and in the adjoining field sites. Participants were sensitized on scientific cultivation practices, soil health management, and the importance of the judicious and balanced application of fertilizers for improving crop productivity and sustaining soil fertility.
